Public Key / Wallet Address
Plain English
Your account number that you share with others to receive cryptocurrency. Like your email address or bank account number - it's safe to share publicly. It usually looks like a long string of random letters and numbers.
Technical
The public component of a cryptographic keypair, derived from the private key through elliptic curve cryptography. Serves as the address for receiving transactions and can be freely shared. On Solana, addresses are base58-encoded 32-byte public keys. The corresponding private key proves ownership and authorizes transactions.
